Three different programs to help young teen girls learn about college life are planned for Oct. 11 at the Fulton campus of Cayuga Community College.
The programs are titled “You’re as awkward as you think – and that’s okay,” “Social media and body image,” and “Science demonstrations.”
Ninth- and 10th-graders from Phoenix and Fulton schools will take part in the sessions during a College Life program called “ToGetHerThere.”
The sessions are from 8:50 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The program sessions give girls the opportunity to experience college type classes in psychology, social media and science, take a career assessment test and have the opportunity to ask questions of a college panel.
The College Life program is part of the Girl Scouts’ ToGetHerThere initiative. ToGetHerThere is all about empowering girls to do whatever they want to do and be whoever they want to be.
