Lawrence W. Ibbs: Enjoyed working outdoors

Lawrence W. Ibbs, 71, of Wolcott, passed away Aug. 20 at Rochester General Hospital after a long illness.

Larry was born in Auburn and had lived in the Wolcott area for most of his life. Larry graduated from Lincoln School of Welding in Cleveland and later retired from Local 832.

He was a member of the Wolcott Elks Lodge 1763 and enjoyed farming and working outdoors.

He is predeceased by his father, William Ibbs and brother, Frederick Ibbs.

Larry is survived by his wife of 29 years, the former Melody Crossin; daughter, Sherrie (John) Ivanov; mother, Lenora Aldrich Ibbs; grandson, Trevor; siblings, Marguerite (John) Moorehead, Sharron (Leroy) Bennett, Leland (Tammy) Ibbs, Donald (Amy) Ibbs; sisters-in-law, Wilma Sherman, Nora Matthews and Cibbie (Bob) Fillingham; his beloved basset hound, Jack and special friend, Darlene DiNopoli.

Larry’s family invites friends to an informal gathering from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 8 at his home, 5355 Spring Green Road, Wolcott.

In memory of Larry, contributions may be made to your local humane society or Wolcott Elks Lodge 1763, Youth Programs, 6161 West Port Bay Road, Wolcott, NY 14590.

Arrangements are in the care of Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal.
