Core samples taken from Lake Neatahwanta

A crew from O’Brien and Gere engineers in Syracuse took core samples from Lake Neatahwanta in Fulton last week.

The core samples are required by the state Department of Environmental Conservation before dredging can begin.

Information from the samples will indicate how to dispose of sediment that is removed from the lake, said Mayor Ronald L. Woodward Sr.

The $15,500 cost of the sampling is being paid by the nonprofit Fulton Community Revitalization Corp., the mayor said.
