Joan Lee Livingston: Devoted Air Force wife

Joan Lee Livingston of Burke, Va., surrounded by the love of her family, peacefully passed away Aug. 16, going home to be with the Lºord.

She was daughter of the late Lester A. Lee and Ivah Snyder Lee of Cato and sister of the late Herb Bean of Venice, Fla., and Ken Bean of State College, Pa. She was sister of Marilyn Cole of Meridian and David Lee of Cicero.

Mrs. Livingston was the devoted wife of 61 years to Robert Livingston of Burke, Va., mother of Jana Luther of Centreville, Va., David and (Bonnie) Livingston of Winchester, Va. and Raymond Livingston of Front Royal, Va. She also is survived by five grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was a 64-year member of Brutus-Cato Order of the Eastern Star chapter 86.  She was a graduate of Auburn Business School.

Mrs. Livingston enjoyed traveling as an Air Force wife, as well as volunteering as president and recording secretary for the Wives Club.

She was active as a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader, seamstress and sewing teacher, milliner and cake decorator.  She also enjoyed family traditions.

Services were held in Virginia Aug. 22.

Local services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 24 at Meridian Baptist Church, immediately followed by an Eastern Star Service and then a burial at Cato Union Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Order of the Eastern Star, Brutus-Cato chapter 86 or Capital Caring Hospice, 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, Va. 22042.
