Charlotte’s Web is a great memory now. August Arty Camp is in full swing this week and we turn our attention to the wrap-up of summer classes and events.
A very special author, Mary Slimmer, will share her newest book, “The Lighthouse in Grove Park School,” during Author Spotlight at 7 tonight, Aug. 21.
Slimmer, a retired teacher and administrator in the Oswego City School District, has written her first novel for young adults. This adventuresome story follows a group of elementary school friends through some challenging and scary events.
“The characters in the book are fictional,” says Slimmer, “but they were inspired by the many children I worked with over the years.” Mary also is teaching a writing class for Arty Camp.
Michael Lynne launches a great new class tomorrow, Painting Fundamentals I, Aug 22, 29 and Sept. 5 Classes run from 6 to 9 p.m. This class will brighten your use of color, explore color mixing approaches, experiment with layering color and share Lynne’s expertise for controlling the use of edges.
