Policy change posed in road controversy

A controversy stemming from a road to a Hannibal sand pit has led to a recommendation to update the Oswego County purchasing policy. County Administrator Philip Church said the policy will be updated.

The change will make sure that contracts or leases involving land use or mining get reviewed by county committee. The recommended change was approved by the county legislature’s Infrastructure, Facilities and Technology committee and also must be approved by the Finance and Personnel and then finally the Government, Courts and Consumer Affairs committees.
