Norma Jean (Baron) Williams: Homemaker, volunteer

OB williams obit 8:3Norma Jean (Baron) Williams, 74, of Constantia, passed away peacefully at home July 29 surrounded by her family.

Born in Syracuse, she graduated from Liverpool High School. She worked part time for 24 years in the Personnel Department of Oswego County, but was first and foremost a homemaker. Norma was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, and instrumental in the operation and continuance of the Constantia Library. She served as a Republican State Committee person, and a committee person for the Town of Constantia for 20 years. For six years, Norma was a volunteer with the Senior Nutrition Center in Constantia, where she was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2013. Norma was also an accomplished landscape artist. She was a communicant of Christ Church, Oneida Lake.

Norma is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, George J. Williams, in 2012.

She is survived by her children Clayton Williams, Deborah (Daniel) Boccardo, Susan O’Brien and Sandra Williams; grandchildren Adam, Dylan (Candy), Bailey, Joe, Dan and Robert; step-grandchildren Heather (Jason), Courtney, Jordan, Sara and Katie; brothers Ray (Jan) Baron, George Baron and Jerry (Roseanne) Baron.

Services were Aug. 2 at Christ Church, Oneida Lake with the Rev. Mike Thesier officiating. Calling hours were Aug. 1 at Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square. Burial was in West Monroe Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Oswego County and Christ Church, Oneida Lake.

The family would especially like to thank Norma’s Senior Nutrition Center friends for all of their support and kindness during their mother’s illness and Nurse Pattie, with Hospice of Oswego County, for her guidance and support in helping family members care for their mother.
