Mural donated to Michaud home

A hand-painted mural, created by the Oswego County AmeriCorps program and children taking part in activities at this year’s Oswego Harborfest, now brightens a wall at Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton. The mural was painted during events at Harborfest’s Children’s Park – so many “hands” took part in its creation! In turn, the mural was gifted to the residents of Michaud as a way to brighten their days, and is now a fixture in the residence.

Library and Michaud team up to bring generations together

The Fulton Public Library will host its Mail Call with the Michaud Nursing Home from Aug. 5 to Aug. 9. The program aims to connect the young patrons of the library’s children’s room with a senior citizen living in the facility to foster intergenerational relationships. The children will write a letter and or draw pictures to a specific senior citizen who has signed up for the program. The program leaders, AmeriCorps members Kyle Mosack and Vanessa Langdon, will then deliver the materials to the residents. All interested community members should come to the library children’s room to complete a letter or drawing. For library hours, visit fultonpubliclibrary.org. Call 592-5159 for more information.
