David Sturgis, building and grounds superintendent

David N. Sturgis, 71 of Fulton, died at home Monday, July 1, 2013 after a brief illness.

He retired as superintendent of buildings and grounds for the Fulton Consolidated School System after working there 40 years.

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Sturgis of Fulton; children, Terry (Stanley) Perkins, Douglas (Colleen) Sturgis and David Sturgis Jr. all of Fulton, and Daniel (Tina) Sturgis of Rochester; sisters, Mary (William) Joice, Martha (Willard) Becker and Christine Sturgis, all of Fulton, and Margaret Mack of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Harriett Sturgis, and brother, Peter Sturgis.

Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. today, July 5 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street in Fulton.
