The Fulton varsity baseball team knocked off Mexico in its May 16th season finale.
Fulton got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 3-0 lead during the first inning.
After both teams scored two runs each during the second inning, the Red Raiders had a 5-2 lead.
Mexico cut into the lead during the third inning. The Tigers outscored Fulton by a run to cut the lead to 6-4.
After a scoreless fourth inning, both teams scored four runs during the fifth inning as the Red Raiders maintained a two-run lead.
Fulton put the game out of reach during the sixth inning. The Red Raiders scored nine runs to take an 11-run lead at 19-8.
Despite trailing, Mexico battled until the end. The Tigers scored a run during bottom of the seventh inning to cut the Red Raiders’ lead down to 10 runs.
The lead the Tigers faced proved to be too much to overcome as Fulton rolled to a 19-9 win.
Leading the way for Mexico was Pat Twiss, who had three hits and two RBIs.
