Varsity track teams from Hannibal, Phoenix, Fulton and Oswego took part in the Hannibal Sports Boosters Invitational April 27.
Of the 16 events the boys teams took part in during the meet, Hannibal came away with six first-place finishes. Phoenix earned three first-place finishes while Fulton and Oswego had one first-place finish.
Girls teams took part in 17 events during the meet. Hannibal and Fulton both came away with six first-place finishes. Oswego earned one first-place finish.
In boys competition, Hannibal’s Erick Febus, Ben Slate, Zane Pointon and Ryan Perry won first place in the 3,200-meter relay with a time of 8:57.10. The Warriors also took first place in the 110 high hurdles event. Jordan Skipworth earned the top spot with a time of 16.00 seconds.
Erick Febus gave Hannibal another first place finish in the 400-meter run event with a time of 51.60 seconds.
In the 3,200-meter run, the Warriors’ Ryan Perry won first place with a time of 9:46.00. Brett Dumas took first place in the discus to give Hannibal another first place finish. Dumas earned the top spot following a throw of 103’2”.
Jordan Skipworth earned the Warriors another first place finish in the high jump with a distance of 6’0”.
The Firebirds came away with three first-place finishes. In the 1,600-meter relay event, Michael Leach, Ryan Pinzer, Eric Hillpot and Justin Rhodes earned the top spot with a time of 3:48.10. Phoenix’s Tyler Sahm won first place in the shot put with a distance of 36’3”.
In the triple jump event, Andy Padula measured a distance of 38’10” to give the Firebirds another first-place finish.
Fulton took the top spot in the 4×100 meter relay. Pat Fink, Brandon Ladd, Nick Reitz and Chance Porter with a time of 53.40.
Oswego’s Ben Harrington took first place in the 400 meter hurdle relay with a time of 59.8.
