The Fulton boys varsity lacrosse team recently lost games to Jamesville-DeWitt and Corteight8 unanswered goals during the third quarter against Fulton to pull away for the win April 11.
The Red Raiders also came up short against Cortland April 13.
After the first quarter of Jamesville-DeWitt game, Fulton only trailed by three goals. Jamesville-DeWitt expanded its lead by two goals during the second quarter to take a five-goal lead into halftime at 7-2.
Jamesville-DeWitt put the game away during the third quarter. It outscored Fulton by seven goals to expand its lead to 12 goals.
Jamesville-DeWitt didn’t let up during the fourth quarter. They outscored the Red Raiders by four goals to cap off a 20-4 win.
Leading the way for Fulton were Matt Nelson and Josh Plonka, who each scored two unassisted goals.
Keeper Scott Hughes saved seven shots on goal.
The Red Raiders had little time to regroup as Cortland awaited them April 13.
Fulton proved that it was not intimidated by Cortland’s 5-0 record.
Following a hard fought first quarter, the game was tied at 2-2. After both teams scored once during the second quarter, the game went into halftime tied at 3-3.
