Barbara Neadle, born in Phoenix

OBITS-NeadleBarbaraBarbara Jean Neadle, 81, a longtime resident of Phoenix and Fulton, died Friday March 29, 2013.

She was born to her late parents, Frances Mason Potts and Caleb H. Potts June 15, 1931 in Phoenix. She attended Phoenix school and later became a homemaker.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick J. Neadle Sr.; a brother, Donald Potts; and three sisters, Dorothy M. Ylitalo, Vivian F. Potts, and Nancy Potts.

Surviving are her son, Frederick J. Neadle, Jr. and his wife, Simodosea of Syracuse; three sisters, Eleanor A. Sedner of Fulton, Wilma K. Sedner of Madison, Va., and Joyce N. Patterson of Fulton; two brothers, Francis “Ralph” Potts of Central Square, and Leonard James Potts of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; four grandchildren, Laurence, Emily, Gillian, and Cora; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held April 2 in Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Homes followed by a funeral mass in St. Stephen’s Church, both in Phoenix. Burial will be later in the spring in Pennellville Cemetery, County Route 54, Pennellville. Calling hours will be held today, April 1.

  1. I recall that Barbara was a very sweet and caring person when she lived in our home in the Town of Granby to care for us as a young woman during week days while our parents worked. While caring for us, she met Fred and married. She never forgot our family. I remember them both as wonderful adult role models from my earliest memories. The last time I saw her was at Mimi’s a few years ago having breakfast with her granddaughter. We both enjoyed that brief visit.
