New York State Senator Patty Ritchie paid a visit to Bishop’s Commons Enriched Living Residence in Oswego to present a special proclamation recognizing and honoring one of New York State’s newest centenarians as Bill Mason celebrated his 100th birthday Feb. 6.

Ritchie was at Bishop’s Commons to present Mason with a Senate proclamation adopted by the entire body and to wish him a very “happy birthday”!

Mason also shared his secret to reaching this milestone with the Senator during the visit: “Have fun along the way, I sure have.”

The Senate Proclamation honoring Mason included the following; “WHEREAS This distinguished man, who has experienced the incredible joys and sorrows  characteristic of and reserved for those with the stamina and courage to savor a full life, has inspired the lives of his many friends and family; and WHEREAS, This beloved man has enriched the lives of those around him through his joyous and sincere love for others and through the quiescent charm and wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years.”
