You don’t have to be a bowler to support OCO’s “Lucky 13” Bowl-A-Fun fund-raiser.

The event includes a raffle for three prizes.

“We have three exciting prizes,” said OCO Executive Director Diane Cooper-Currier. “First prize is a gift package of camping gear and goodies, contributed by OCO Residential Services employee Chris Minor. Second prize is a getaway overnight stay at Vernon Downs Casino; complete with a Jacuzzi room and sumptuous buffet dinner. Third prize is a relaxing, scenic three-hour dinner cruise on your choice of the Erie Canal or Skaneateles Lake, courtesy of Mid-Lakes Navigation.”

Raffle tickets go on sale Feb. 13 — exactly two months from the bowling tournament event on Saturday, April 13. Only 413 raffle tickets will be sold.

Drawing for all three prizes will take place at the Bowl-A-Fun, which is being held at Lakeview Lanes on Route 3 West in Fulton.

Registration is now open for five-person teams. There will be two flights of bowling from noon to 2:30 pm and 3 to 5:30 p.m.; slots are filled first come, first served basis.

Registration forms are available at the OCO main office, 239 Oneida St., Fulton; the Midtown Plaza office on E. Bridge and E. First streets, Oswego; and online at www.oco.org.

Businesses and individuals are invited to donate door prizes for the raffles and silent auction, and major sponsors are being solicited as well.

“This year’s proceeds will benefit services for the homeless, now and in the future,” Cooper-Currier stated. “Homelessness continues to be a problem throughout Oswego County, and it impacts consumers of every service we provide.”

In addition to support for existing services, OCO will set aside a percentage of the Bowl-A-Fun proceeds to build financial resources for the future.

“There is a vision for a homeless shelter in Oswego County,” Cooper-Currier said. “As the community action agency for Oswego County, we strongly support this vision because it aligns perfectly with OCO’s mission.”

Those seeking registration or sponsor information or to donate a door prize may call OCO at 598-4717.
