Lewis Cummins, Air Force veteran

OBITS-CumminsLewis_WLewis S. Cummins, 77, of LaMadre Way, Baldwinsville, died at the Cunningham Building of Loretto Health and Rehab Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 with his wife Beverly by his side.

He was born in Phoenix to his late parents, Myrtle (Bouck) and Stanley Cummins, June 21, 1935. He was a graduate of Cato-Meridian High School, class of 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961.

He and his late brother, Wiiliam Cummins, had operated a garage. Later, he became a bus driver for Cato-Meridian Central Schools, and then a truck driver for  Joroleum Co. in Weedsport.

He was a member of the Phoenix  Lions Club; Phoenix Senior Citizens; and assisted with the Meals on Wheels program in Phoenix.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years; his son, Dean Cummins of Cato; three step-children, Michael C. (Sandra) Branch of Charlotte, N.C., Alice C. (Mark) Lauber of Central Square, and Venett Martin of Phoenix; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Private services were held Jan. 28. Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Homes, was in charge of arrangements.
