The Fulton girls varsity basketball team split games this week against Jordan-Elbridge and Christian Brothers Academy.
Fulton outscored Jordan-Elbridge 23-2 during the first quarter to set the stage for an impressive win Jan. 25.
Against Christian Brothers Academy Jan. 29, Fulton was outscored 47-17 during the second and third quarters in the loss.
The Lady Raiders wasted little time getting into gear when they took on Jordan-Elbridge.
By the end of the first quarter, Fulton had jumped out to a 21-point lead. The Lady Raiders didn’t let up during the second quarter.
They outscored Jordan-Elbridge by 14 points to take a 35-point halftime lead at 40-5.
After a competitive third quarter, Fulton only outscored Jordan-Elbridge by a point. However, the Lady Raiders put the finishing touches on a dominating performance during the fourth quarter. They outscored Jordan-Elbridge by 10 points to cap off a 66-20 win.
Leading the way for Fulton was Nicole Hansen, who scored 14 points. Cheyenne Brien followed Hansen with 11 points.
Taylor Duda added 10 points and Jessica Hudson chipped in eight points while Michelle Gorea, Sydney Plato, Courtney Parker, Michaela Whiteman and Christina Pensabene combined to score 23 points.
Fulton found out just why Christian Brothers Academy is considered one of the best teams in New York State when the teams met Jan. 29.
The Lady Raiders got off to a decent start. By the end of the first quarter, Fulton had a two-point lead over Christian Brothers Academy.
Christian Brothers Academy stormed ahead during the second quarter and didn’t look back. They outscored Fulton by 17 points to take a 15-point lead into halftime at 25-10.
