Born in Fulton, she was a long time resident of the Hannibal area. A devoted homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, camping, being outdoors and the time she spent with her family.
She was a member of the Martville United Methodist Church and Oswego Elks Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carlton “Sam” Axtell; her children, Bonnie Lewis and Keith C. Axtell; grandson, Keith S. Axtell; and brothers, Edgar, George and William Beshures.
She is survived by her children, David of Texas, George (Dale) of Hannibal and Sam (Heather) of Fulton; a sister, Helen Colasanti of Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held tomorrow, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. at Fulton First United Methodist Church, Route 176, Fulton. Calling hours will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal.
