Ludington sworn in as county judge


Former City of Fulton Court Judge Spencer Ludington was sworn in as Oswego County Surrogate Court Judge on New Year’s day.

Ludington ran unopposed for the position in the November election.

He replaces Judge John Elliott, who retired last year.

Ludington was re-elected as city court judge in 2009, having served in the position since 1997. He served as both an acting judge and acting family court judge for the county.

He was also cross-assigned to Syracuse, Oswego and Watertown city courts.

Ludington worked in private law practice from 1990 until 2007. He served as a part-time assistant district attorney in the Oswego County District Attorney’s office from 1992 through 1994.

He also worked in the Onondaga County District Attorney’s office in 1989 and 1990.
