Fulton Community Theatre will hold open auditions for “Tenebrae.” a newly-composed rock and roll Easter cantata that will debut March 23 as part of the theatre’s 2013 season.
The musical, composed and directed by Michael A. Bolio, lead singer of The Sent Forth, recounts the passion story in song and narration. “Tenebrae” takes its name from the traditional Holy Week service of shadows, featured by the extinguishing of candles, one by one.
Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 7 and 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Bishop’s Hall of Holy Trinity Parish, 309 Buffalo St., Fulton.
Those auditioning are asked to prepare two songs, one ballad and one up tempo using recorded backing music. The piece calls for eight soloists (seven male and one female) and a choir of 12 (four male and four female), and four children’s voices.
The production, which will feature musical backing by The Sent Forth, will run Saturday, March 23 on the stage of Jubilee Hall.
Those seeking more information may call Bolio at 729-7362.
