David E. Roth, 80, of Fulton, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 at home.
He was born in Oswego, a son to the late Charles and Evelyn Knight He and lived all of his life in the Volney and Fulton areas.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1992 from the Nestle Company where he worked for 38 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Fulton VFW Post #569.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Carol Yager Roth, who died in 2009; a son, David G. “Rusty” Roth, who died in 2004, and by a sister, Elizabeth Roth Douglas who died in 2005.
He is survived by five children, Susan (Larry) Stowell of Marietta, Ga., Arlene (John) Loughrey of Fulton, Alan Roth of Fulton, George (Liz) Roth of Petal, Miss. and Darren (Brenda) Roth of Fulton; five step children, Michael Loosen, Theresa Vescio, Chris Spiegel, Karen Bennett and Melissa Crandell; two sisters, Lillian Stone of Oswego and Evelyn Cowley of New Haven; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held from 4 to 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 4 with a memorial service to follow at the Church of the Nazarene, 914 Utica St., Fulton.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be in the spring at Mount Adnah Cemetery.
