The Fulton boys varsity basketball team goes into the final week of the 2012 calendar year still seeking its first win of the season.
With one game remaining before the holiday break, Fulton is 0-5. The Red Raiders are coming off recent losses to Carthage, Bishop Ludden, and Fowler.
An impressive first half helped Carthage coast past Fulton Dec. 8. By the end of the first quarter, Carthage had built a nine-point lead over the Red Raiders.
During the second quarter, Carthage outscored Fulton by 11 points to extend its lead to 20 points at 31-11 going into halftime.
Though The Red Raiders were more competitve during the second half, Carthage remained consistent. They outscored the Red Raiders by three points during the third quarter to extend its lead to 23 points. Carthage capped off its solid effort by outscoring Fulton by two points during the fourth quarter to come away with the 56-31 win.
The Red Raiders were led by Taylor Dudley, who scored 10 points against Carthage. Cody Dick and Dan Coant who scored six points each and Jordan Baldwin chipped in four points. Steven Henri, Seth Britton and Tanner Gorton combined to score five points for Fulton.
It didn’t get any easier when the Red Raiders took on Bishop Ludden Dec. 11.
After a solid first quarter, Bishop Ludden jumped out to a 10-point lead. As the Red Raiders were kept off the scoreboard during the second quarter, Bishop Ludden added 15 more points for a 31-6 halftime lead.
