The Fulton girls varsity basketball team played two games on back-to-back days this week.
The Lady Raiders took on Christian Brothers Academy Monday and Whitesboro Tuesday. Unfortunately for Fulton, both teams proved to be superior opponents.
Following the losses, the Lady Raiders took on Fowler yesterday, which was their third game in five days.
Christian Brothers Academy got off to a solid start. CBA led 41-15 going into halftime. Christian Brothers Academy remained consistent during the third quarter, outscorng Fulton by 12 points to take a 38-point lead into the fourth quarter.
To the Lady Raiders’ credit, they battled valiantly. Though they were able to cut into the deficit during the fourth quarter, Christian Brothers Academy’s lead proved to be insurmountable as they came away with a 68-32 win.
Fulton was led by Nichole Hansen, who scored seven points. Michaela Whiteman, Jessica Hudson and Taylor Duda all finished with five points each. Christina Pensabene, Courtney Parker, Cheyenne Brien and Michelle Gorea combined to score 10 points.
Fulton display a stronger effort when it took on Whitesboro. After a competitive first quarter, Whitesboro led the Lady Raiders by only a point. Fulton got that point back during the second quarter to even the game at 26-26 going into halftime.
Whitesboro got off to a solid start to begin the second half, holding Fulton to only four points during the third quarter while building a 13-point lead.
