Members of the Oswego Firefighter’s Association Local #2707 have once again teamed up with other businesses in the community to support this holiday season’s US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program in Oswego, according to local Toys for Tots Coordinator Chris Jones.
“We really appreciate the support of the Oswego firefighters, who continue to display their tremendous act of kindness,” said Jones. “Knowing that we have bettered the Christmas experience for families in need all across our community is what motivates our ongoing partnership.”
According to Jones, the Oswego firefighters have gathered and donated hundreds of toys for families over the past years.
“It’s a great feeling to be back again this year in support of the annual Toys for Tots program,” said Lt. Brooks Hourigan of the Oswego Firefighter’s Association Local #2707. “We highly value the connection to our community and see this as a great way to give back to the people who are in need the most.”
Members of the Oswego Fire Department will escort Santa and be on hand for this weekend’s fourth annual Toys for Tots Day of Sharing benefit, which will be held today, Nov. 24 beginning at noon at the new Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, adjacent to the Best Western Captain’s Quarters at 26 E. First St., Oswego.
Santa Claus will arrive at 2 p.m. for children to have their picture taken with for free when a contribution is made to the Toys for Tots drop box at the event.
