Cross country teams compete in Class B championship meet

The Fulton, Phoenix and Mexico boys cross country teams took part in the Section III Class B Championship Meet Nov. 3 at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School.

The meet featured 157 athletes from 17 different schools. Even though Westhill-Ludden won the event, Fulton, Phoenix and Mexico represented their schools with pride. Fulton and Mexico earned fourth- and fifth-place finishes respectively while Phoenix finished in 14th place.

The Red Raiders tallied a team score of 123. Fulton was led by Kyle Loftus, who earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 17:23.9.

Following Loftus were Mitch Lalik, who finished in ninth place with a time of 17:57.2, and Bailey Lutz, who earned a 10th place finish with a time of 18:02.3.

Jimmy Martin finished in 30th place with a time of 18:50.8, Scott Littleton earned a 76th place finish with a time of 20:00.2, and Alan Cronk finished in 79th place with a time of 20:08.9.

Jacob Belcher earned a 91st place finish with a time of 20:32.6, Jacob Baily finished in 102nd place with a time of 20:51.4, and Tevin Simard earned an a 127th place finish with a time of 21:33.5, and while Chase Halstead finished in 155th place with a time of 21:30.4.

The Tigers tallied a team score of 153. Mexico was led by James Gowans. Gowans earned a second-place finish with a time of 17:03.3. Following Gowans were Ben Harper, who finished in 14th place with a time of 18:08.9, and Austin Moore, who earned a 41st place finish with a time of 19:12.4.

Eric Hulbert finished in 43rd place with a time of 19:13.8. Tim Rainer earned a 63rd place finish with a time of 19:40.5. Austin Clark finished in 77th place with a time of 20:02.7.

Charles Raymond earned an 103rd place finish with a time of 20:51.7. Ezra Hulbert finished in 13th place with a time of 21:10.0. While Tyler LaFlamm earned an 157th place finish with a time of 25:17.8.
