Professional Journalists and Communicators of Oswego County turns 40

Members of the Professional Journalists and Communicators of Oswego County will celebrate the organization’s 40th anniversary Monday, Oct. 22  at 6 p.m. at Vona’s Restaurant in Oswego.

Guest speaker for this milestone event will be broadcast journalist Garrick Utley, who was named a senior fellow and professor of broadcasting and journalism at SUNY Oswego’s School of Communication, Media and the Arts.

PJC was formerly known as the Oswego County Press Club and was founded Oct. 4, 1972.

Each June, the club presents the Muriel Allerton Scholarship Award to an incoming college freshman pursuing a media-related career.

The 40th anniversary celebration begins with cocktails at 6 p.m. with a buffet dinner served at 7 p.m.

There is a cost to attend the dinner. Reservations are due by Oct. 15. Anyone with questions regarding the dinner may contact Marion Ciciarelli at 349-5601.
