Inheriting a team that went 0-15 last season has allowed Conklin to implement a basic goals for his team.

The first step of his team’s development is to put themselves in positions where games can be won. Once they get a win, Phoenix hopes to build on that momentum.

By the end of the regular season, the Lady Firebirds hope to come away with a winning record in 2012 so that a Sectional bid can earned.

Conklin said the team’s goals will serve as motivation for Phoenix to earn a sectional bid, which is something that hasn’t been done in many years.

Phoenix will feature a team that has an even number of players from all grades.
