Gerald Bernard “Bunker” Minnoe, 82, a former Phoenix, Mexico, and New Port Richey, Fla. resident, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, in Sterling, Colo.
He was born Nov. 6, 1929 to his late parents, Gerald B. and Lois (Waldron) Minnoe. He married Jeannette L. Earl of Phoenix April 12, 1947.
He was a member and officer of the Phoenix United Methodist Church, longtime member of the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Department, a mason with Callimachus Lodge #369, F&AM, Phoenix, and the Lions Club in Mexico.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jeannette of Sterling, Colo; a son, Ralph (Charlotte) Minnoe of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter, Alane (William) Nightingale of Lliff, Colo.; a grandson, Jeffery (Tammy) of Summerville, S.C.; a granddaughter, Jen (Brian) Grauberger of Lliff, Colo.; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Lois) Minnoe of Baldwinsville; sisters, Mary (Wayne) Marsh of Phoenix, and Connie Marsh of Florida; a brother-in-law and close friend, Dale (Mary) Earl of Fulton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Gerry Minnoe, and seven sisters. Services will be held Saturday Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. in the Phoenix United Methodist Church, 49 Jefferson St., Phoenix, with the Rev. Susan Townsend officiating. Burial will be in Chase Cemetery, 9450 N.Y.S. Rte. 48, Phoenix.
