The Phoenix Community Concert Series Partnership — comprised of the Town of Schroeppel, Phoenix Community and Youth Council, Phoenix Public Library, Fulton Savings Bank, NYS Council on the Arts, and the Cultural Resources Council — has been awarded $750 from the Cultural Resources Council under the 2012 Community Arts Grants Program.
This Phoenix Partnership will share $120,000 with 70 other not-for-profit organizations and 9 regional artists. The money will be used for community-based cultural projects in Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, and Oswego counties.
The Cultural Resources Council supports worthwhile local projects throughout Central New York — from neighborhood festivals to exhibitions, performances, and educational programs.
Community Arts Grants were awarded with funds from the Decentralization Program of the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency.
In addition to funding from the Cultural Resources Council, “Music in the Park 2012” would not be possible without the financial contributions of Fulton Savings Bank, Skeets DenBleyker, Patricia Henjes, Carl & Betty Richardson, and 2011 concert goers.
This summer will be the 12th annual “Music in the Park” concert series. One of the goals of the Phoenix Concert Series Partnership is to enrich the lives of concert goers and residents through arts and culture.
By popular request, this summer’s concert series will feature a variety of music, especially various styles of country. The concerts will take place at Henley Park on State Street in Phoenix Monday evenings beginning at 6 p.m.
The schedule has been finalized and is as follows:
• Monday, July 9 – Tom Gilbo & The Blue Suedes (Elvis show).
• Monday, July 16 – The Custom Taylor Trio (Popular current country). This is a change from original schedule.
• Monday, July 23 – Eddie Fagan (Banjo).

• Monday, Aug. 6 – Susan Taylor Trio (Variety). This is a change from original schedule.

On most evenings, there will be a Kids Creation Table.
