When the Oswego County Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee meets today, a candidate to replace Dr. Dennis Norfleet as the county’s health director is slated to be named.
The meeting agenda includes a proposed executive session for the purpose of the appointment of a new health director.
The director initiates, directs, manages, and regulates the county health department’s delivery of public health services throughout Oswego County.
The department is comprised of divisions in the areas of Public Health Nursing, Children with Special Needs, Environmental Health, Public Health Education, and Emergency Preparedness.
The director of public health has oversight of the daily operations including supervision of approximately 90 employees with an annual operating budget of $15.4 million.
