Do Good Swing Band kicks off concert series

The Do Good Swing Band kicked off the 2012 West Linear Park Summer Concert Series with a performance Tuesday at the Veterans’ Stage. The Do Good Swing Band is a 17-piece Big Band like those made popular in the 1930s and 40s.

The Veterans’ Stage on West Linear Park in downtown Oswego will once again host a series of concerts this summer as the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the City of Oswego, sponsors the West Linear Park Summer Concert Series.

“We are pleased to once again be working with the city to sponsor this popular music series,” said chamber Executive Director Beth Hilton. “The stage at West Linear Park provides us with a perfect location and the concerts will provide members of our community and visitors with the opportunity to listen to some wonderful music while enjoying a breathtaking view of the river and the Oswego harbor.”

The concert series began yesterday with the sounds of The Do Good Swing Band.

The concert series continues with performances by the Nick Sterio Orchestra Tuesday, July 17 and  the Domicolo-Barlow Band Tuesday, Aug. 21.

All concerts will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Veterans’ Stage on West Linear Park.
