Oswego County Opportunities Homeless Services is seeking donations of food, clothing and personal hygiene items to assist the homeless and needy within Oswego County.
OCO Homeless Services unit works with individuals in the community who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Services provided include case management, crisis intervention, and follow up care.
These services are provided in order to assist homeless individuals and families with finding safe and affordable housing, and afford them the opportunity to establish themselves in their own residence.
According to staff member Brian Coleman, OCO Homeless Services is currently accepting donations of new bedding items such as pillows, blankets and sheets; and household items such as garbage bags, toilet paper, and light bulbs.
Personal items such as new socks, underwear, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs/brushes, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products; gently used household items such as pots, pans, dishes, cups, silverware, utensils, and lamps will also be accepted.
Donations of food supplies such as non-perishable pop-top canned soups and pastas, along with grocery stores gift cards are also appreciated as they can be used to purchase miscellaneous household items.
