Mary Gebezyk, mother of Fulton resident

Mary F. Stempkowski Gebezyk, 86, of Auburn, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at her home.

Born in Clymer, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine (Napieral) Stempkowski. She was a communicant of St. Hyacinth Church and a former member of the S.K. American Legion Post #1324 Auxiliary.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Gebezyk, who died in 1976;her son, Joseph, who died in 2008; her brother, John Stempkowski; sister-in-law, Diane Stempkowski; and brothers-in-law, Al Pawlowski and Chappy Urbanik.

Surviving are her children, Michael (Patsy) Gebezyk of Aburn, Suzanne (Francis) Gantley of Fulton, Robert (Deborah) Gebezyk of Moravia, and Nancy (Vincent) Tassone of Auburn; daughter-in-law, Deborah Gebezyk of Moravia; two sisters, Alice Pawlowski and Sophie Urbanik of Dunkirk, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling and hours were held at Niepon Funeral Home, Auburn. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Hyacinth Church. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
