by Rob Tetro

After two innings of its game against Jamesville-DeWitt Wednesday, there was optimism in the dugouts of the Fulton varsity baseball team.

Though Fulton led by four runs going into the third inning, its optimism proved to be short lived. Jamesville-DeWitt erupted for 13 unanswered runs en route to a 14-5 win.

By the end of the first inning, the Raiders had a 4-0 lead. Both teams scored runs during the second inning as Fulton maintained a four-run lead at 5-1.

Unfortunately for the Raiders, it was all downhill from there. Jamesville-DeWitt exploded for 11 unanswered runs during the bottom of the third and fourth innings to take a seven-run lead at 12-5.
