The Fulton varsity softball team scored three late inning runs against Chittenango to ensure victory last Thursday.
With the game tied at 3-3 going into the sixth inning, The Lady Raiders outscored Chittenango by two runs during the game’s final two innings en route to a 6-4 win.
Chittenango scored first and took a 1-0 lead during the bottom of the first inning. During the top of the third and fourth innings, Fulton responded with three runs to take a 3-1 lead.
Chittenango tied the game with two runs during the bottom of the fourth inning. During the top of the sixth inning, Fulton scored to go ahead 4-3. The Lady Raiders added two more runs during the top of the seventh inning to extend their lead to 6-3. Chittenango attempted to rally during their final at bat. They scored to cut Fulton’s lead to 6-4, but were unable to get any closer as the Lady Raiders held on for the win.
Fulton was led by Keisha Pierce and Ciarra Chapman. They both had two hits and an RBI against Chittenango. Lauren Synder and Mikayla Guernsey combined to tally a hit and an RBI for the Lady Raiders.
Lindsey Larkin earned a win on the mound for Fulton. Larkin struck out six batters while giving up 4 runs on 10 hits.
