Rita A. Scott, 91, of Oswego, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Oswego Hospital.
Mrs. Scott was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Gaetano and Mary Louise (Gentile) DePasquale. Mrs. Scott was a former employee of Breneman Hartshorn and she worked as an LPN at Oswego Hospital.
Mrs. Scott was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, where she sang in the choir from 1949 until 2003 when she began singing in St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s Churches Resurrection Choir.
Mrs. Scott was a member of and enjoyed traveling with St. Joseph Golden Age Group.
She was a member of the Columbiette Council #227 and received the honor of 1998 Columbiette of the Year.
Mrs. Scott was predeceased by her husband, John Scott, in 1958 and her sisters, Catherine Butler, Mary DePasquale and Helen Morgan.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her son, Thomas (Laurel) Scott of Annapolis, Md.; her brother, Peter DePasquale of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Melissa, Christopher, and Rebecca; and great-grandsons, Christopher and Joshua.
Funeral services were held Friday at Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home and at St. Joseph’s Church, where a Mass of Christian burial was celebrated by the Rev. Gregory Kreinheder. Burial was in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Oswego.
