The Fulton girls lacrosse team hosted Jamesville-DeWitt Saturday in a game that was a battle for the top spot in the league.

Even though J-D attempted eight more shots on goal, Fulton withstood the aggressive play by making the most of the shot attempts that it took.

The Lady Raiders made 81 percent of their shot in the 13-11 win, which put them at the top of the league standings.

Following a competitive first half, Fulton took an 8-6 lead into halftime. The second half was even more competitive as both teams scored five goals a piece. J-D, however, was unable to cut into the Lady Raiders’ lead as they escaped with the two-goal win.

Fulton was led by Amelia Coakley, who scored four goals. Kate

Rothrock added three goals and Erica Knaub and Julia Ludington combined to chip in four goals and an assist. Jordan Rizzo and Alise Tallents each scored a goal for Fulton.

Torrie Whelsky saved 13 of 24 shots on goal.
