Oswego County Ethics Board chairman John FitzGibbons addressed members of the legislature’s Strategic Planning and Government Committee during Monday’s meeting.
He gave an overview of the ethics law and the purpose of the board. “We work from the confines of the law to serve in the most capable way,” FitzGibbons said.
The financial disclosure form, required under law to be filed by elected officials and department heads in the position of decision making, needs to be revised, FitzGibbons said.
“The disclosure proves first and foremost,” he noted. “The disclosure form isn’t as forthright as it could be.”
Committee members sat in silence as FitzGibbons spoke and no questions were asked after he ended his overview.
