Sweet Thing and I made it back on Wednesday after an uneventful trip – just the way we like it.

One of the first things that I did was to take the hollow Bufflehead decoy that I carved in Florida out to Tom Duger for the Wild Turkey Federation banquet next week.

It’s an attractive drake, actual size, and hand carved as a premium hunting decoy. I plan to do several more of them in the next two months.

Most of Wednesday afternoon and evening were filled with unpacking and starting to get things put away, but we hit the hay early.

I planned to get up early and check one of my turkey hunting spots to see if I could get a gobble. That will be my chore for the next three or four days as I try to decide where we will hunt turkeys opening day.

“Early to bed, early to rise” sure helps out for turkeys.
