Carol Reed of Fulton is a published author thanks to her guardian angel “Jenna.”

Reed’s story, “Our Little Angel,” was chosen for the “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Messages from Heaven” edition.

Reed’s sister encouraged her to submit her story to Chicken Soup. Her sister had a story published several years ago and the publishing company kept in contact with her about upcoming books.

“Chicken Soup for the Soul: Messages from Heaven” features 101 stories about loss, miraculous signs and amazing connections.

She wrote from her own experience about an incident that occurred in 2009 when her husband Ryan, a Fulton firefighter, was hospitalized after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm.

He was rushed to the hospital’s emergency room and later moved to the neurosurgical IUC.

Reed was told that her husband needed a procedure called coiling. The operation was a way to avoid having to need major brain surgery. It was scheduled for the next morning.

But the procedure was not successful for Ryan and he needed surgery to stop the bleeding in his brain.
