Chamber of commerce opens new office in downtown Fulton

by Andrew Henderson

The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce recently opened a new office in the City of Fulton.

Located at 12 Canal View Mall, the office offers a more visible appearance within the community, said chamber Executive Director Beth Hilton.

“The new office allows us to provide expanded and enhanced services to the Fulton community,” said Hilton. “It will include visitors/tourist information as well as meeting space for the chamber’s many Fulton-based committees, such as Project Bloom-Fulton, the Greater Fulton Business Committee, and Jazz Festival.”

Currently, the office is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is staffed by chamber staff members.

Beginning with Memorial Day and extending through the end of the Farmer’s Market, the office and information center will also be open Saturdays during the Farmers’ Market from 9 a.m. to noon. It will also allow for public restroom access during the market.

Staffing on Saturdays will be through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

“We are also looking at having the office/visitor’s center open Fridays from Memorial Day to Labor provided staffing can be secured through RSVP Volunteers,” said Hilton.

Businesses with brochures, business cards or other tourist information pieces may bring them by the office for inclusion in the information center brochure racks.

According to Hilton, the expanded space has been made possible through a number of local businesses and individuals, including 24 Hour Record Retrieval & Abstract, Burke’s Home Center, Doug Caster, HELP! Small Business Solutions/Ed Schaperjahn,  Fulton Typewriter Supply, RealtyUSA/Linda Thomas-Caster and mf graphics.

A formal ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration is scheduled for April 24 at 10 a.m.
