The Hannibal Varsity Baseball Team held on for a one-run win against Pulaski Tuesday afternoon.
Pulaski rallied to take a one-run lead during the top of the fourth inning but the Warriors were not going to be denied.
They got runs during the top of the fourth and sixth innings, which helped them to prevail with a 5-4 win.
Hannibal wasted little time offensively. The Warriors took a 2-0 lead during the bottom of the first inning. Pulaski responded to cut the Warriors’ lead in half at 2-1 during the top of the third inning. Pulaski added two more runs to take a 3-2 lead during the top of the fourth inning.
Hannibal was quick to respond, scoring two runs during the bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead back at 4-3.
During the top of the sixth inning, Pulaski added another run, which briefly tied the score. However, the Warriors proved to be a little too much. They added what proved to be the game-winning run during the bottom of the sixth inning to go ahead 5-4.
