On a picture perfect weather day, a large contingent of fans and race cars opened the gates for the first time to kick off the 2012 season at the Fulton Speedway Saturday afternoon.
Around 50 race teams hit the high banks to see if their winter’s worth of work paid off in the two-hour test and tune session.
Chuck Hebing, Bryan Howland and local favorite Shawn Donath all said they wanted to get a jump on what expects to be a huge field of Sprint Cars Saturday being the first 360 race of the season in New York State and for our neighbors to the north in Ontario.
Jared Zimbardi, defending Patriot Sprint Tour champion, will lead the rest of the PST regulars as they try to bring home the top-prize against all comers from other touring series.
To add to the excitement, Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified driver Larry Wight will be strapping himself into a methanol breathing beast.
