Ronald Ives, Navy veteran

Ronald E. Ives, 61, of Fulton, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

Born in Fulton, he was a life resident. He had worked at Affordable Heating in Mexico for many years. He had previously worked at Cyclotherm Boiler and was co-owner of Wal-Ron Boiler Parts and Service, both in Oswego.

He was a former member of VFW Post 369 in Mexico. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1973 to 1977.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, the former Cecilia Dante; a son, Robert Ives of Oswego; a daughter, Melissa Ives of Volney; four grandchildren, Andrew, Mariah, Alyssa, and Skyler; brother, Donald (Andrea) Ives of Baldwinsville; and three sisters, Adele (Gary) Blasczienski of Fulton, Wendy (Terry) Flett of Fulton and Elaine Niver of Inverness, Fla.

Services were held Thursday at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton. Burial was in North Volney Cemetery. Calling hours were held Wednesday at the funeral home.

  1. To Ron’s family,

    I worked with Ron at Cyclotherm many years ago before it closed. He was a hard worker and very knowledgeable of the boilers. I was a welder at the time. He also knew a lot about cars and he worked on my car while his wife and I visited. I’m sorry for your loss.
