CNY Warriors place second in March Madness tournament

First goal of the tournament – The CNY Warriors ended season play with a second place finish in Scottsville’s March Madness Tournament. The Warriors competed in the A division, falling to Scottsville 4-2 in the championship. The team defeated Monroe County, Rochester, and Scottsville earlier in the tournament. The CNY Warriors ended season play with a second place finish in Scottsville’s March Madness Tournament.

The Warriors competed in the A division, falling to Scottsville 4-2 in the championship.

CNY 5, Monroe County 0: Warrior Tyler Calverase got the scoring started late in the first period, skating the puck in and roofing the shot.

In the second period, CNY’s Billy Greene made good on an attempt made by Asher Zych. Warrior Caleb Clarke landed a shot from the blue line mid-third period.

Greene bounced one in, thanks to a pass from Alec Caroccio before Derek Morgia sent the puck in off the goalie’s mitt, Greene assisting.

Warrior goalie David McNulty earned his third shut out of the season. Greene was named game MVP.

Rochester 1, CNY 8: CNY’s Derek Fitzsimmons sunk a lower corner shot mid-first period. Clarke sent one in from the top of the circle, thanks to a passing play between Fitzsimmons and Connor Pratt.

Early in the second, Zych took a feed from Hari Nathakumar to tally his 20th goal of the season on a backhand shot. Clarke then picked up a rebound from Zych to score his 15th goal of the season.
