The Hannibal Central School District will soon have a new leader.
During Wednesday night’s meeting, the board of education selected Donna J. Fountain as the district’s new superintendent of schools.
The district underwent a yearlong search process for a new superintendent.
Twenty-six candidates applied for the position. William Silky and Lucy Martin, of Castallo & Silky in Syracuse, served as consultants to the board during the search process.
“The board was very impressed with Donna’s passion and enthusiasm for Hannibal and rose to the top of a strong list of candidates for the superintendent’s position,” said board President Michael LaFurney. “We are delighted to have her as our next superintendent.”
