Fulton’s Midget Split Season hockey team, sponsored by Alliance Bank and Foster’s Funeral Home, recently played its Tier III central section sectionals in Pulaski.

Fulton, Valley, Geneva and Salmon River would vie for advancement to the state tournament, which will be held in Valley March 16-18.

Fulton’s first opponent was Salmon River. Fulton had beaten Salmon River by a wide margin both games during the regular season.

Fulton’s Casey Holden opened the scoring when he and brother, Dylan Holden found themselves in a two-on-one situation with a Salmon River defender. Casey Holden would take the pass from Dylan Holden to score with 12:45 left in the first period.

Fulton’s Jason King would be fed a pass in front of the net by Bryce Knight to score Fulton’s second goal of the period.  Later in the period, Kaden Hotchkiss accepted a feed from Josh Miller to finish the period with three goals on the board for Fulton.

Fulton’s Joe Cortese found the back of an open net after a shot by Steven DeLisle pulled the goalie off his mark, increasing the score to 5-0.
